Iron & Its Importance
Nutritional deficiency creates unthinkable challenges in our life. Ferritin is like
your body's checking account for iron levels. When you get deficient in your iron
reserves, symptoms you might experience are:
● Hair loss and premature graying
● Weight gain
● Brain fog
● Insomnia
● Fatigue.
● Dizziness.
● Chronic headaches.
● Unexplained weakness.
● Ringing in your ears.
● Irritability.
● Leg cramps
● Shortness of breath
● Restless leg syndrome
● Swollen tongue
A blood work up is necessary to evaluate iron deficiency anemia. Contrary to
conventional broad normal ranges, I pay close attention to serum ferritin
concentrations using a functional lens and work on correcting this imbalance.
